I don’t care too much for the Pat character that she made popular on SNL, but her monologue shows are so funny and thought provoking. I was only familiar with God said ‘Ha!’, wherein she speaks of her brother’s and her own struggles with cancer.
I’m currently watching Letting Go of God and am about halfway into it. She makes her spiritual journey so damn entertaining. I love all the reading she did that she’s sharing with the audience.
She does the first 15 minutes of this monologue as part of a TEDTalk, if you’re interested. It starts off with her being 7 and learning about the Age of Reason and the lack of Santa Claus. Oh and she pokes some of fun at the Mormon missionaries who visited her current neighborhood.
